On Thursday of last week we talked about our music project in class. I like many others in class are still trying to figure out what to do for our music project. From what it sounds like there are a few in the class with some really interesting ideas.
So today we attended the Rodney A. Briggs library for an informational session. Unfortunately for me i forgot we were in the library so i missed it and went to the classroom. Oops, but being the responsible person I am I talked with a classmate for a few minutes and found out what i missed. Wow what a great library we have here on campus. It was a good experience from what i heard because they taught us about all the resources at our finger tips. A very nice one is the Electronic Reserves, which we all can access from our dorm rooms, assuming you have a computer with internet access. The library hours monday-thursday are from 8 a.m. till midnight, friday 8 a.m. till 6 p.m., saturday 11 a.m. till 7 p.m. and sunday noon till midnight. So with this exceptionally great resource at our hands i expect to see you all there and to be getting A's in all your classes, haha.

What's a piece of music you associate with a parent, grandparent, or someone you know well that's at least a generation older than you?
I really didnt know my grandparents that well because they died when i was pretty young but a song that whenever i hear it i think of my dad is 18 Wheeler by Alabama. When i was young we would always listen to the band Alabama because it was his favorite, and 18 Wheeler stands out know most of all because it talks about the father making his way home as fast as he can to see his family. That song really hits home now especially because my dad is currently in Iraq serving with the National Guard.
If we all decided to replace the national anthem with a new song, and everyone agreed that you got to choose, what would you recommend?
If I would be able to choose the National Anthem i would pick "My Country Tis of Thee". The reason why i would pick this song is because it appeals to every human being, it talks about liberty and freedom for all. It is also a catchy tune.
Given the readings and what (little) you know about Governor Blanco, if you had a chance to ask her one question, what would it be?
Why were there so many people still in your state when Hurricane Katrina hit, and where was the organization for evacuation?

What kinds of music related performance stuff (if any) do you do?
I was a tenor in high school concert choir, and i played Euphonium in Concert Band.
If you could take 5 pieces of music with you to a desert isle, what would they be?
First of all i wouldnt be on a desert isle, But if i was i would have Adam's Song by Blink 182, Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day, Back in Black by ACDC, Distraction by Angels and Airwaves, and Killer Queen by Queen.
Why I Signed Up For This Class
My adviser said I would have a lot of fun and the teacher was really good, and i wanted to get my lecture out of the way now.
